It is very assuring to me. I just feel better every week. I'm

ready to start exercising again now, too. I will enjoy my Christmas vacation

now!

A long time ago I wrote

a note to a very wise man (Dr Aubrey another group member) telling him I was

worried about my son’s lab numbers.

His most simple reply has stopped more needless worry and concern than

any other doctor could have. He

said – “How does Ken

feel today?”

Dana, if you ask

yourself that same question every morning when you wake up, you can do almost

anything! If you feel good, have a great

day, if you’re not feeling well, take it easy and try again tomorrow. It’s so simple, yet it works wondrously! You’ll know when it’s time

to start worrying about lab numbers or tests, your body (sadly) won’t let

you forget, but you can do whatever you want in the meantime! Start exercising fairly slow, then build

up. But…. Isn’t it GREAT

you feel well enough to start again?

Go for it girl friend!

So very wise! I have learned to do that too. I realized that when

thinking about 'this' and weighing 'that', I thought to myself " but I

FEEL fine! " . I go with that to get me through days, and watch the

numbers for the big picture. The other day I was worried about the

itching, and just reminded myself I am not itching that much, and the

next day it was gone. My doc says, even though I have not yet had a

liver biopsy, I do not have cirrhosis, so I don't fret it. My numbers

are good, so I don't worry about what they " could " be. If I get RUQ

pain or tenderness, I rest and drink until I am ready to float away

(water of course lol) and it helps. If I FEEL good, I let myself feel

good! If you have kids, the peds will always ask the same question-

" how is baby acting? " . Fever of 102, snotty nose, but baby is happy

and playing, it should be fine. We can follow the same model!

Barb,

I occasionally post here, however I at least look at every post that comes through - I guess that makes me a "lurker". I always read yours because I can see in them a very bright, loving, caring woman and mom that has valuable information and experience that I can and do learn from. I pay attention to what you say and your comments here hit home with me.

My husband has been doing and feeling better in the last month than he has for a very long time and I was wondering myself if he was in "remission" if there is such a thing. I now understand that it doesn't really matter, the real question, as you say below, is "how am I feeling today?" I know many variations on this theme and totally understand it in my head. However, your post helped me really understand it on a very personal, deep in my soul way.

I want to thank you for all that you have and continue to teach me in various ways and in the things you say. By the way, I miss your Caring Bridge updates. You are an inspiration to me - you also have a GREAT NAME!
