The issue with teas is the widely varying levels of fluoride. While

fluoride doesn't occur naturaaly in the plant itself, it is introduced

both through watering and through airborne pollutants. Fluoride from

both of these sources is concentrated when the leaves are dried.

Decaffienated tea tested the highest for fluoride, both green and

black. Regular tea was next, with ppm levels of fluoride just in the

tea that were well over the daily recommended dose for 'healthy'

individuals. Herbal teas contained the least amount of fluoride. Add

in the fluoride found in most city drinking water systems and tea is a

double whammy.

IMHO, if you are very well medicated, you could probably tolerate an

herbal tea made with non-fluoridated water.

Cheers,

Friday

Check these articles for fluoride levels in tea. Even if you can only

see the abstract, you'll see what I mean.
