Guest guest
Some of you may remember how difficult it was for me to watch Sebastian not doing so well swimming at meets throughout the year. He loves the sport, he puts himself to it, but he just isn't too fast. Well, we've been going to meets on a regular basis these last few weeks. You can definitely see he is finally getting the experience. After all, he only started on the swim team last year. Well, yesterday we went to this swim meet not between two clubs, but where all the clubs in the area participated. There were only 6 kids from our club and both Kasper and Sebastian participated. Kasper did ok, but he's just really starting the sport. He didn't swim throughout the year with a swim team, he was just taking lessons. Sebastian got scored number 9 out of 23 kids in breast stroke which is considered very difficult. He actually won two of his heats, both in breast stroke and freestyle. The Heat Winner ribbons are really boosting up his confidence. And I'm really happy he is finally starting to catch up with the other kids and instead of being the last one to come in, he's starting to be in the lead. This school year Kasper will most definitely qualify for a swim team. I am taking them out of the club Sebastian was swimming for last year and will be putting them into a more structured and sanctioned club. They both love doing it and seem to be doing just fine. On the other hand, I am not doing so well. Trying to stay out of the sun during the meets is pretty difficult. We went to three meets this past week, yesterday's started at 7am and was finished before 2pm. My skin is doing ok, but yesterday I definitely go overheated. Halfway through the meet I got a huge headache, I didn't think I was going to be able to drive home. It was really hot here yesterday. Today we are getting some relief: no swim practice due to lightening and rain, and we can also use that rain that is coming down. My joints are achy though, and I hope today's rest will do it. There's a big possibility the dive meet will be cancelled as well, it's supposed to rain hard and they won't be able to do it in the rain. Sebastian is getting closer to his trip to Poland, only two more weeks left. I am getting a little bit more anxious about him leaving. I mean I know he's going to do just fine and I am not worried about his trip and his stay there. I just can't imagine not having him here. It will be way to quiet. Also, he's such a great helper, I will have so much more to do when he isn't here. Still, I know he will enjoy himself very much and I'm sure he will want to do it again next year. That is all for now. Mojo
