Guest guest
I have been there! First, I don't think it is asking too much to ask visitors to wash their hands before holding the baby. I also think your older daughter is just the right age (and her friends, too) to start learning to wash their hands when they come in, before they eat, after using the restroom. The trick is not obsessing, which I did for awhile. It will ease up as you adjust, but certain habits are good to learn, and now looks like a good time for your family to learn them! I found my son's friends to be quite cooperative. They were 5-6 when Philip was born. Your paranoia will decrease and yes, this is very normal. -Lenora >I was wondering what everyone else does concerning visitors and CF children. >I would like all visitors coming into our home to wash their hands. I also >would like anyone wanting to hold or play with my daughter to wash their >hands as well. Is that crazy or is that what everyone else does? Everytime >another child plays with her toys or touches her I think " is that child >sick....they don't look sick....I wish they wouldn't touch her....what if >they give her a cold......I will be so mad..... " and on and on. I worry >every time someone comes near. Is that normal? Am I paranoid? Is it >unnecessary to have everyone wash their hands?
