Guest guest Posted October 7, 2002 Report Share Posted October 7, 2002 Some of you people are so lucky that your CF Doctors are the same when you go to the clinic. Our main Doctor Dr Bush (some of you may have heard of him from the Brompton) is still there but he doesn't cover the wards. Dr Rosenthal (spel?) does but we hardly ever get to see or talk to him. Our favourite doctor Ravi, who was the only one who managed to get an IV line in Shelby without too much trouble has just moved on. He was only at the Brompton for a year. Shelby is on the waiting list for a portacath! It's supposed to take six months and that is about end of November! As she has had so much trouble with her IV lines and needed two in one year they have decided it will be less traumatic for her to have it now and then review the whole thing in a year or so if she doesn't need IVs for a while. They figure that having to get stuck so many times to try to get a line in is much more traumatic than having to get stuck every month to have the portacath flushed (not being a doctor I can't see the difference). Still once again this is Louise's (Shelby's Mum) decision not mine (Shelby's Grandma) I suppose its just another thing I have to get used to. Just as I have everything else.
