Guest guest
hi jennifer, you should be able to get medicaid(welfare )for your child. it shouldnt go by the parents income. you will get in on what they call a loop hole. because your child has cf they are intitled to get it . even when you get insurance again from your husbands company , medicaid will be your secondary. go right away it may take time, but it should be retroactive from the day you apply. good luck janelle mom of alex 6 w/cf. Guest guest
The information you need, including an application for assistance, can be found at http://www.kdhe.state.ks.us/shs/index.html Kansas has a special health program just for children with chronic health problems. If your child has been covered by insurance until now, he is eligible for a continuance of coverage under COBRA for eighteen months after your husband leaves his job where he has insurance. You will have to pay the full premium, though, which could be a real hardship. If you don't find all the information you need at that website, contact the local Health Department and Department of Human Services in the town where you will be relocating to. Ask what services are available. Explain your situation. These agencies are there to help you. Good luck! ~ > My family has decided to move to Wichita, Kansas and we are leaving > a great insurance plan here in California.
