Intussusceptions should be able to be diagnosed accurately by: colonoscopy,

ct scan, abdominal ultra-sound and other methods such as barium infusion---

and MRI as well as X-ray. They should be figuring this out as IF this is

what he is

having, he is in danger of losing a section of his intestine.

I have cf and I have an adult child who has it as well, and I think that at

this point I

would get very advocacy oriented and very firm with this child's doctors. I

had to be

very assertive to protect all of my children, only one of whom has cf, but I

learned

to, if necessary, ask for a specialist's opinion--pediatric gastrointestinal

specialist,

and, if needed a second opinion after that.

I can sympathize how you must feel about your child's fear and anger,

especially

if it is directed at you. I would talk with the cf doctor about this as

well.

I just think that there must be a way to make things better for both of you.

You will both be in my thoughts and in my heart as you go through this.

n Rojas, wcf, mom of 3 adults, the youngest of whom has cf as well
