Guest guest
Because, Leigh, this virus/worm has the capability to disable your anti-virus software. I have had Norton catch it a number of times and quarantine it, but then, twice, I had this happen, where it tried to " get through. " The first time I didn't know what was going on, and kept restarting and running chkdsk and such. It got through, then I disinfected, scanned, cleaned, scanned some more, etc, etc. Now I know what to look for (Outlook " hanging " during send/receive). So just because you have Norton does not mean you are safe from this thing. It is good protection though. Make sure all your Windows updates are downloaded, that you are current on all security patches. I think I was missing one critical one and that may be why it was able to sneak through. We'll see. Also never leave your e-mail program unattended, always close it/exit it even if you leave for just a few minutes. )O( mama to , 2yo, wCF and alpha-1 and to , 4 yo, w/alpha-1 but no CF Re: something wierd No kidding--I, too, have battled the daemon twice--and one! n--good luck!
