Guest guest
Holly - that is exactly what we did. Anyone that came over, we asked if they wouldn't mind washing their hands because the baby was so susceptible to illness. Everyone totally understood. As far as holding, I just politely said no, unless it was someone that I felt VERY comfortable with, and ALSO washed hands. I always carried hand sanitizer as well, for those moments. We relaxed once was walking around touching everything, which was about 2 years old. Up until then, we stuck to the hand washing. All the doctor's say that GOOD HAND WASHING is key! Keep it up! Melinda - 2 sons wcf, 4 yrs and 5 months, and sister 26 wcf visitors and handwashing and worring I was wondering what everyone else does concerning visitors and CF children. I would like all visitors coming into our home to wash their hands. I also would like anyone wanting to hold or play with my daughter to wash their hands as well. Is that crazy or is that what everyone else does? Everytime another child plays with her toys or touches her I think " is that child sick....they don't look sick....I wish they wouldn't touch her....what if they give her a cold......I will be so mad..... " and on and on. I worry every time someone comes near. Is that normal? Am I paranoid? Is it unnecessary to have everyone wash their hands? I am loosing my mind thinking about bacteria and virus's...........
