Guest guest
Hi all, My son (3.5) has been having problems with excessive urination for about three months (when we started LOD). LOD has been very helpful otherwise so I don't want to give it up. He has been soaking through his diapers, PJs and all his bedding nearly every night. I didn't mind so much when he was in his crib but now he is on an expensive organic mattress and the cotton and wool pads are barely doing the job. I also try to change him in the middle of the night when I apply his LDN. He is still waking up around 5:00 am completely soaked through everything. I have posted on the LOD list to get ideas about why this may be happening but I need help with the diapers. I think the problem is compounded by the fact that he is very thin and his bladder is bigger than his diaper allows. He seems to hold it for a long time (often when I apply his LDN he is still dry). Then it floods everything. I was using Huggies overnights but ran out and haven't been able to find them in a size 3 anymore. BTW, we are not chelating him other than TTFD & PCA- rx(1 spray). Any suggestions on any SUPER absorbent diapers or other ideas would be welcome. TIA, --------------------------------- Yahoo! Photos Got holiday prints? Guest guest
Quick thought, Have you talked with your doctor about this? Excessive urination is a common symptom of diabetes. Probably not, just in case! Lorraine > > Hi all, > > My son (3.5) has been having problems with excessive urination for about three months (when we started LOD). Guest guest
Thanks Jody. We are seeing DAN! next week and have already added this to my long list of things to discuss. " Jody G. " momtobandj@...> wrote: , I would try to get some medical help with this problem. But as for the super-absorbent diapers... I would probably just put a second larger overnight on him for the time being (until you can get more medical help with the issue). That might help to protect your bed. Guest guest
Hi , Is your son on a zinc supplement? My child was not night time trained until we changed her zinc from a bedtime supplement to a morning (or noontime) supplement. I told another mom of an ASD child about this, and she made the same change and it was the key to her child staying dry all night too. By the way, what is LOD?
