Guest guest
Is anyone familiar with latex allergies? Emma seems to be having a reaction whenever we put bandaids on her. The reaction is usually worse than the original cut or scrape. I wasn't sure if bandaids are latex are not. The box doesn't say but I was guessing it was. I also wasn't sure what this meant in terms of the fact that she has a G tube. Her G tube has been having major problems lately (granulomas, bleeding, etc) and I wondered if this reaction to bandaids might explain some of her G tube problems. If anyone has any info on latex allergies, I would appreciate it. - mom to Emma 2 years w/cf and Isabelle 4 years wo/cf ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Guest guest
My mother is bothered by bandaids so am I and so is Rebekah (my other 7 kiddos LOVE bandaids just like kids everywhere .Rebekah has had her skin eaten away by Tegaderm and Bandaids caused her to scab any where they touch her she also is bothered by hospital bands we use cloth tape and tape them before she puts them on.Rebekah has a policy that when she goes in the hospital we put signs all over her room her door and on her.Rebekah had a very hard time with skin erosion and granulomas. The thing that works to help control the skin breaking down is called comphrey gel or salve it has even worked on my 16 year olds scar from knee surgery. If you send me your address I will send you a bit in a bottle it works miracles.Within 3 days her skin was clearing up and the only other thing we ever used was triple antibotic ointment.I hope this helps.BeckyB.
