Guest guest
The title says it all so I am asking all you CF experienced for some insight. Emma is 2 1/2 years old and is currently taking Cotazym ECS 8's (Organon). She takes 2 with snacks, 3 with meals, 4 with Pediasure (235mL) and 5 with a Scandishake (600 cal/250mL serving). She has been experiencing frequent (3-4/day), pale or bright yellow coloured stools that are loose and full of mucous. The stools also leave her bootom red and she complains of stinging. I recognize these symptoms as being signs of malabsorption, although I'm at a loss for an explanation for the burning. We have just increased her dosage on her supplements since we know the exact calorie and fat content of them. The increase hasn't seemed to help much with her stools. I have been reading conflicting information about enzyme dosage since some dose by age and some dose by weight. She weighs about 29 lbs. Can anyone offer some insight??? Thanks so much, Missi, mom of Emma 2 1/2 w/cf and Mathieu 1 1/2 wo/cf
