Guest guest
Dear n, Thank you so much for your post that enabled me to have a lovely flashback of my most carefree days -- Pre-CF! My husband (from Sunnyvale, near Palo Alto) and I (from NJ) were married at Stanford just days shy of four years ago. After the costs incurred with the wedding stuff, we found ourselves unable to afford (or take any more time off of work) for a honeymoon. So... we spent three glorious nights by the fireplace in our room at the Manka Lodge (which I think is in Inverness), catching up on reading, cross-words, and sleep. During the daytime, we'd go to Stinson Beach with our dog (who we'd flown out to CA for our wedding) and play in the surf. I still favor a photo of my husband walking our dog onto the beach and pausing beneath a " NO DOGS ALLOWED " sign and giving the camera a thumb's-down. My dog had never been on sand before... she ate/swallowed enough sand in those three days that she literally pooped a sand castle at the check-in line at the San Francisco airport before we headed home to NJ! Gee, I haven't thought about those " good-ol-days " in years and I'm sitting here smiling from ear to ear recalling those memories! Scary and sad that it seems like those time good times happened in another life actually. Amazing how having a child with CF can age the HECK out of you and virtually erase all of the stuff (good and bad) that came before " the diagnosis " . I've got to get back in touch with myself... thank you for oiling my rusty gears!
