We do have a higher risk for developing pancreatic cancer ( I don't remember

the actual statistic). But it is certainly not cut-and-dried like Miss

Snappy Information would have you think.

Cyndie, people with chronic pancreatitis have a slightly

higher chance(5 or 10%? I think? the articles I read were a

while ago and I'll have to go through all my papers to find

them) to get pancreatic cancer, but in most of the articles

I've read, those who had this happen all smoked too. They

don't know what it is about smoking that does this, just

that it correllated to it somehow. Personally, I think those

who do have pancreatic cancer after having pancreatitis have

had it all along, it was just mis-diagnosed (there's a

lovely little though isn't it?). Both are very hard to

diagnose. Kinda a chicken or the egg deal. Don't know if

this is of much help, but that's what I know. As soon as I

have some extra time, I'll look through my articles to see

if I can find them for you.
