Brandan update..day 13...: )

Hey all,

Its day 13 and wanted to give you all the update on Brandan, He has had

his ups and downs but as we all know 5 steps forward 3 steps back. He has

had a few different types of infections, and fevers that have spiked to 104.

They thought perhaps there was a blockage because his billirubin had spiked

up also, but now they are more thinking it could be due to just the swelling

and all the activity his organs have gone through lately. As its been put,

its uncharted territory, and they have been wonderful with keeping his sugars

under control, so that the islets dont have to strain, and trying all they

can to do the same for the fevers. He is still on TPN, but is starting to

eat a little bit at a time, he loves the slush ices from downstairs, and

likes the hospitals turkey and wild rice. The pain is not like the pancreas

pain he says but he still has quite a bit of pain due to the incision and all

the rerouting of the organs inside. All and all he is doing as well as can

be expected, somedays are better than others but as always we take it a day

at a time. I again will try and keep you all updated, when I am able, by all

means keep those prayers coming. They truly have helped us get through the

worst of it all, and as always keeping you and yours in our thoughts and
