Guest guest
My laser treatment is in the dermatology department of a big UK hospital and all I don't know what type it is. I had a test patch done 3 months ago and it took 2 weeks till the bruising and swelling calmed down. So I am concerned about this time having all my face done how long this will take to look reasonable. Also, I take oxytetracycline antibiotics and no-one has said to stop taking them before. Should I be tapering them off? I'd be grateful for any comments from the group as I feel I may be swept along by something I may regret afterwards. After years of my face looking bad I was so pleased to have a chance of improvement I didn't question it at the time. Gill
Guest guest
Gill: You will be getting pulsed-dye laser treatment. Personally if I would be very cautiious about pulsed-dye treatment. Any sort of excessive brusing or swelling (no matter through what type of treatment such as Photoderm, Pulse Dye, etc) has the possibility of making things worse. Did you read in Dr. Nase's book that his Pulsed Dye treatment reduced some residual redness but made his skin sensitivity and flushing much worse than before. Lots of others have talked about the same thing happening. Before you go, try giving Dr. Mervyn a call or an email, his website is at www.woodfordmedical.com - he does Photoderm treatments but he should also be able to give you an honest appraisal of what to expect. Those are just my thoughts. . > My laser treatment is in the dermatology department of a big UK hospital and all I don't know what type it is.
