Guest guest
Hi Everyone; My daughter dislikes raw nuts but enjoys roasted nuts (we buy them unsalted). Are roasted nuts SCD legal - cashews in particular? Thanks, Kim Mom to Jordan (pre-SCD, 3 yo ASD) and Shauna (1 yo, NT)
Guest guest
Roasted nuts can contain starch. You'll need to verify how they are roasted. You can also buy raw ones and roast them yourself. Jody mom to -7 and -9 SCD 1/
Guest guest
Hi all, We order raw peanuts from Boardwalk Peanuts in Pleasantville, Nj and after ordering from them for over 2 years, I can trust them as they know what I require. I order a 25 lb box for about 35.00 of raw peanuts and request that they blanch, roast them from a raw state, and do not add salt or anything. They explained to me when I first started with them that the only reason they would add a starch is so the salt adheres to the nut. I feel assured by the manager of the plant that the process is secure as I explained our health situation and that it is imperative that they do as I request or I cannot do business with them. I have even asked them if they can please clean the vessel that they roast the nuts in before filling it with my order. I feel that after this amount of time I can trust them.. The only thing is sometimes the peanuts aren't as roasted as I would like them to be. I have never inquired about any other nuts but they do have various kinds.
