Guest guest
Hi everyone, We took my 10 mo. old to see the allergist yesterday. He agreed to test her. We opted for the one blood draw (instead of the *prick* test) although it's supposed to be less accurate. I just couldn't put her through at least 20 pricks right now. He did not think her violent vomiting after eating chicken was caused by a food allergy but I tend to disagree. He said she would have to have been exposed to chicken many times before in order to build antibodies, blah, blah. He did not consider that she is still only primarily breastfed. I don't think he knows much about breastfeeding. Anyway, just wondering about your thoughts on my opting for the blood test. I figure at least this will give us a basic guideline. Right now I'm so frightened to feed her anything other than her standard pears, bananas and zucchini (she seems okay with these.) Thanks for your thoughts. ~Terri
Guest guest
Dear Terri, We did the USBiotek test and it only requires one or two finger pricks. Our 2 year old was fine with the prick but we didn't let it dry enough and the sample was rejected. We will do it again this week. It only requires that you saturate two very little pads, let them dry and ship them. Seems easy enough for me. Flor > > Hi everyone, > We took my 10 mo. old to see the allergist yesterday.
