Dear Friends of the CF community, My name is Isabel Stenzel Byrnes and I am a 30 year old twin with CF. My twin sister, Anabel and I were graciously invited to Washington, DC this year, to be interviewed for a tv show called " Medical Answers " . The program shows once a week on PBS or a PBS affiliate station and features and expert who talks about a specific disease each session. Ana and I were interviewed for their session on cystic fibrosis, which will consist of 4 half hour segments over 4 weeks. We realize the staff at Medical Answers has done an excellent job of putting together a very informative program on cystic fibrosis and it will be sent to PBS stations on Thursday, November 28th. Please read the enclosed information on how you and your friends can learn about how to watch this excellent program. Ana and I absolutely love sharing our stories and we hope your CF community members can also learn something about CF by watching the show. We are very grateful to Genentech, Inc, who sponsored this terrific program and is equally interested in spreading the word about CF. I kindly ask that you please post this message on your websites, online programs, newsletters, etc. There is a little work to be done to get the program on all local channels...THank you very much for your help. Please let your friends, familiy members, health care teams, newly diagnosed community members, etc. know about this upcoming program. Thanks so much for your work for the CF community. Guest guest
LISA, that is truly wonderful , now if all could do this !!! Lets AWARE the daylights out of folks................ LOVE &HUGS, GrandmomBEV Re: FW: An exciting TV program on CF! I talked to my local affiliate on Friday. Since they are not longer on a 24 hour program schedule, they cannot guarantee they will run the shows. They did say however that they will look into fitting it in. I gave all the information from the original e-mail listing the segments and the show name. I will follow-up with them tomorrow. If there is anyone else in the Los Angeles area, please help me by calling them as well. Maybe if they hear from enough people, they will show it. Our local affiliate is KCET and their number is on the website at www.kcet.org. Sorry, I thought I had it written down. I also have a call and e-mail in to them on doing a story about CF. Wish me luck. bev bevd@...> wrote: FOLKS, Please pass this on to as many folks as you can. organizations ,chat rooms, other lists involved in CF & medicine/health, your centers.....all social workers at your clinic for them to also pass on. Guest guest
I called our local PBS station and they declined to air this show. However, I did get the name of the Station that produced the series. I am now trying to contact this station to request VHS copies of the series. Produced by: KNME in Albaquerque, NM VHS copies available through: Medical Answers 9689 Lindenbrook Street Fairfax, VA 22031 I tried calling the Fairfax location and got what sounded like a personal recorder. I left a message anyway. I will keep this list posted on my progress. Happy Thanksgiving!
