Arsenic in almonds

Can anyone here tell me if this is true and if it is in amounts that

are dangerous? When we use almond flour as our main ingredient for

baking I would think this could be serious? Is it possible that other

nut flours should be used more in place of the almond?

Thanks Carol.

We don't use almond milk and we do use about 1/2 cashew flour. We

should be ok then?

There is but it is not a lot. That said, it is never wise for your diet

to consist of too much of anything.

We use all different kinds of nuts but none of them every day.

One of the reasons it's so important to rotate your diet is because

foods have natural toxins in them so that they won't be 'overgrazed'.

The theory is that this is to ensure continuation of their 'species'

(examples of this are celery and . If your diet is rotated every 4

days, you won't have any trouble with these things as your body will

have 3 to four days to purge itself of each food before you consume it

again.

I was researching arsenic in apple seeds (we do a lot of juicing) when I

found the following information:

Keep in mind that there may also be benefits for us in eating foods with

these chemicals. Arsenic, though it's difficult to find anything good

about, does get some honorable mention on the web about how arsenic may

be a good combatant for selenium poisoning and vice versa (

http://phys4.harvard.edu/~wilson/arsenic/as-sn.html ). It is also

thought to prevent disease in chickens and so is included in some

chicken feeds (

http://www.dnrec.state.de.us/dnrec2000/Divisions/AWM/SIRB/Arsenic/ ).

Arsenic may prevent cancers in other animals and perhaps even humans (

http://www.provet.co.uk/health/diseases/arsenic.htm ). However, it is

believed to also cause certain cancers too. Lastly, there is a study

that states arsenic may be key in preventing a specific disease in

Africa but I can't find it right now.

Kind regards,

KimS
