cleansing mitt that uses no soap or cleanser

This may be helpful to those of you (like me) who haven't been able

to find a cleanser that works without irritating. I've been using a

product for about 4 months called FACEWAVES that is used with

water only, no cleanser. It's a thin " mitt " that fits over your hand

and is made of a very soft, fine looped terrycloth-like material. I

just saturate the mitt in warm filtered water and gently clean off my

makeup using as light a pressure as I can and still remove the

makeup. I use a water-based makeup that comes off fairly easily with

it. (When I've used ZincO or any other sunscreen, it doesn't work as

well, as I've had to resort to somekind of soap.)

The pressure from the mitt is a little abrasive and my face is pink

afterwards, but it generally goes away fairly quickly. And I've found

that the mechanical pressure is less irritating and certainly not as

long lasting as irritation I get from any of the cleansers or mild

soaps.

When I've finished washing my face, I just wash it out with a mild

bar soap (Cetaphil) while it's on my hand and then wring it out and

hang it to dry. It seems to be some kind of microfiber and dries very

quickly.

If any of you are interested, there's a picture and a description at

http://www.makeupmania.com/Details/TI-0195-01-001.cfm -

and it's $12 and will probably last indefintely.

It's not perfect, and ideally I would prefer something that requires

less rubbing, but it's the best I've been able to come up with for

now!
