Guest guest
Lyme disease--I am looking for Spanish posters on Lyme disease: how to recognize ticks, remove them, the signs and symptoms of Lyme disease, and the importance to getting treatment for it. Any sources out there? In response to the request for info on transportation safety, NHTSA offers a 32-hour (4 day) training to certify people as car seat safety technicians. This enables us to participate in free car seat inspections (such as in a toy store parking lot), install car seats for clients, etc. It is a great skill to have, especially in working with the Latino population. Grants and other means of obtaining free or low-cost car seats are available. Bilingual people are especially encouraged to get certified. Death and injury rates have come down a lot for children in car crashes, but outreach to families of low English proficiency is crucial. Nissan has bilingual brochures and videos on car seat safety, order at 1-800-955-4500. They're high literacy and pretty dry, but good for professional types. I much prefer the NHTSA Corazon de Mi Vida video to teach in the community. Thanks!
