Guest guest
Sharon, I would consider going back to what he was eating when the seizure activity was the lowest. Then re-add the foods again, one at a time to see if you can pinpoint a particular food that might be causing a problem. Also, I've read that Taurine helps with seizures. Have you tried it before? Guest guest
We have had a horrible time with skin lotions, make-up and such. We are very sensitive to ingredients and stick to basics also. We have to be careful of " gluten " sneaking into everything. I know what you are going through. Pure oils have been are salvation...we don't even use much soap in our house. It has made a huge difference in controlling their rashes. I also know that when I was bathing them....they would accidentally Ingest some of the stuff...you know how kids are about butting their fingers in their mouths and drinking bath water! Same thing goes with lotions.....babies and children can't keep their hands out of their mouths...and if they have cuts or abrasions on the skin, their doctor says it can still get into the body! Antoinette SCD day 15 (multiple sensitivities, gluten allergy, Celiac Disease, Dermatitis Herpetiformis, ASD, ADHD.......) Skin Cream? had been doing well on the diet - seizures reduced, nice BMs etc, We messed up with vanilla and stopped that about 5 days ago, but the nanny is giving him a morning massage and I'm wondering if the skin scream she is using (baby, hypo allergenic) could be the problem - it has an ingredients list as long as my arm, including aloe vera. I'm going to ask her to use olive oil, but was wondering if anyone had experienced bad things with skin cream (I may be reaching here, but when he was on the pure beginner diet, his seizures died off immediately). Thanks. Sharon Cruikshank

Guest guest
may not need it. Only has had an EEG and it wasn't done very well since he had to be sedated to get the electrodes on (he was 2). The EEG didn't pick up any seizures. weighs 49 pounds now, but he was only 2 when he started taking Taurine. I'm not sure how much he weighed then...I'd have to look. Maybe 30 pounds? They've been on the same dose since then. Jody mom to -7 and -9 SCD 1/

Guest guest
Hi Sharon, I hope that the olive oil is working. If not, I know one mom who uses coconut oil on her skin and her children's skin right before bedtime. The coconut oil is a solid in the jar but has a low melting point, so it melts in your hand and can be put on like a lotion. (I have never used it for lotion).
