Guest guest
I am trying to find a good fit for my kids probiotic-wise. I know there are three legal brands. Can anyone give me their impressions about these brands. Successes? Regressions? Improvements or not? Thanks in advance. Guest guest
Hi Brent. Thank you for the post. How long did you wait to introduce the yogurt to Ella? My kids (Margeaux, , and Elle) all have difficulty with the casein protein in dairy products. Their labs reveal that they make excessive amounts of casomorphine with it, so I am hesitant to introduce real dairy stuff until we have healed drastically. But some day down the road I do intend to " test the waters " because the benefits seem completely fantastic. Did you ever use any of the legal brand probiotics recommended by Elaine before you were able to give yogurt? Thanks again, Jeni Lynn (gastrointestinal problems) SCD 2 weeks mom to Margeaux, 5 yr. (add, gastrointestinal problems, heavy metal toxicity) , 3 yr. (gastrointestinal problems, heavy metal toxicity) Elle, 17 mo. We messed up and gave her too much the first time. Your smart to plan ahead and look at the fine details. Reading stories about intollerance to yogurt and her interolance to cows milk had us go the goat milk and the non dairy starter route. Her allergy was not to cassein oddly enough so it was either the whey or the lactose causing problems. She is now tollerating the whole pastueurized goats milk with vitamin D with GI Prohealth Progurt Starter very well. We have a salton brand yogurt maker that we plug in. I used 1 quart of the goats milk and 1/8th teaspoon of the starter per the directions on the Progurt starter Knowing she has been whey interollerant I fermented the yogurt for a full 32 hours and then dripped the yogurt as well. I've also kept it in the back of the fridge for several days thinking the bacteria are eating the last bits of the fluid part before feeding it too her. We started with feeding 1/8 tsp and now a couple weeks later she is up to a couple teaspoons. Ella is doing great with a huge " trophy " cabinet the last several weeks and she is tolerating more and more glucose as well as food items. Guest guest
You can still get the probiotics if you make the NUT yogurts and then, after a couple of months or so, you may be able to give the goat's yogurt and the kids may tolerate it then. The probiotics help the gut to heal so, even if you have to get it in the NUT yogurt first, it's better to get them somehow than to just wait sometimes. This happened to my daughter. How long have they been on the diet? Are your children allergic to nuts?
