Hi Kim,

If you are trying to figure out whether your child is still in need

of omega 3 and/or 6 oils, there is very helpful information in the

book " SuperImmunity for Kids " by Leo Galland, MD. Dr. Galland is

mentioned in the foreward of BTVC. You may be able to get a copy

from your local library.

Hey everyone!

I am still working on the legality of my children's supplemental

protocols and nearing the end. Thanks for everyone's help so far. I

have another one to analyze -- vital nutrients' ultra pure fish

oil " RS " (regular strength).

The website is http://www.vitalnutrients.net . It is catagorized

under fishoil, ultra pure RS 220ml. The ingredients are EPA

(eicosapentaenoic acid), DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), other omega 3

fatty acids, natural lemon flavor, antioxidant blend (rosemary

extract, ascorbyl palmitate, natural tocopherols), triglyceride form

fish oil.

OK . . . so the natural flavors and such sound fishy to me (pun

intended :)). But has anyone already checked this out? If not, what

questions do I need to ask to investigate? What answers should I

expect?

Thanks in advance for any guidance. I am trying my darndest to get

this right. All help is greatly appreciated.

You could call and ask the company what the " natural lemon flavour "

is. If it is just natural flavour than no it would be illegal. If

it is lemon oil then it would be okay.

Thank you, Sheila. I called the company like you said. The woman I

spoke to thought that it was lemon oil, but she was going to double

check and get back to me.

I appreciate you taking the time to help me learn how to investigate

this stuff. Without you and others here, I wouldn't know what

questions to ask these manufacturing companies. I feel like I am

learning a lot as I move along, though, so -- hopefully -- my posted

questions will become few and far between. It will be nice

to " arrive " at a level where I can be a tad more self-sufficient and

give as ya'll do.

The oil is good. I don't know about the soft gels - there is no

list of what the soft gels are made with. If you want the soft gels

call the company and check what they are made of.

Along these lines:

Elaine recommended vitamin D supplementation in the winter months -

either cod liver, halibut oil or Vitamin D supplements (page 65,

10th edition BTVC) During summer months fish oil is sufficient.
