Guest guest
Why in the world is she waiting. Every day waiting could hurt the lungs-if it is CF-I feel so strongly about early checking. Preventive & as much natural as you can is better always. All the docs I have spoken with & believe me you cant count the numbers.....HAVE TOLD ME THAT. Of, course , it just makes good sense. I sure hope she will listen to you. Your great with the info & awareness. Bless you & Thanks Stop in sometime & let me see those sweeties during holidays. (or anytime!! LOVE & HUGS, grandmomBEV CF? a friend of 's has eerie symptoms, neg sweat test 's new best friend in preschool came over last week with his mom. We got to talking and I told her that had CF. Her son was sweat tested twice for CF. He had reflux, difficulty growing, oily stools, salt crystals on his forehead after sleeping, and a bout of asthma and pneumonia that landed him in the hospital for a week. He's now four and the salt crystals and oily stools have just gone away, his mom says. And he is now growing very well. He has in the past been diagnosed with food allergies and is in general a very allergic child. I think I kind of freaked out his mom, because I said that he could have a negative sweat test but still have CF. He has never had the genetic test for CF done. What do you all think? She decided to wait on pursuing the bloodwork, since he is doing so well now, and if he ends up with pulmonary problems again, to insist on it. Just wanted input...it scared me, the part about the salt crystals and the oil in the stool! Oh, he was also tested for celiac and that was negative. To me, he looks pretty healthy, but he does look a bit pale and skinny. He is quite tall though. )O( mama to , 2yo, w/CF, and , 4yo, no CF ------------------------------------------- The opinions and information exchanged on this list should IN NO WAY be construed as medical advice. Guest guest
I think the simple answer is denial....but I agree. I just have to bite my tongue in a way because I hardly know her, you know? I think also she feels he is in good health now, and if he has any problems she will insist on genetic testing. Thanks Bev, we are so maxed out here as usual, but coming to the end of our " crazily busy " time just in time for the holidays. We'd love to drop by and see you! And will do so as soon as we can. We need to get down to Orlando pretty soon for flu shots...kids have been sick most of November with viruses and are just getting well enough to get them. So maybe we will stop by then; I know you're not far but I don't get down into Orlando very often. Only 20 minutes! :-) )O( mama to , 2yo, w/CF, and , 4yo, no CF CF? a friend of 's has eerie symptoms, neg sweat test 's new best friend in preschool came over last week with his mom.
