Hi Asta, I do recognize these symptoms, including the rash. In my experience it is an " allergic " reaction to a product. Unfortunately when I used the vita-oil and her cover-up powder I also had a bad reaction. (very bad...I also got red welts on my cheeks which had never happened to me!) Many use and love her products but I've heard quite a few posts here from people that have not reacted well to them. If it were me I would stop the other products too because extreme dryness seems to open the door for further inflammation and irritation to begin. Somehow you need to protect the outer layer with a little oil or moisture at least. Is there something you used prior that you could go back too? Have you ever tried another oil? Sy's vita-oil contains other ingredients besides jojoba. You might try sweet almond oil, safflower, olive, or jojoba in it's pure state. Hope this helps,
Guest guest
Hi Asta, I've used two oil products successfully to manage dryness (in addition to the Super Rich Moisturizer). Squalane oil from DHC Skincare is my favorite and runner up is the Pure Olive Oil from DHC Skincare. ( http://www.dhccare.com ) I also tried Sy's Vita-Oil, but unfortunately, I reacted to it with peeling and redness. I also found out that, for me, if I don't drink water religiously (1/2 my body weight in ounces)... it makes a big difference in my skin moisture, tone and resilience. Good luck Asta - I know this process can be very frustrating. Keep asking questions - you'll find a system/regimin that will help you. It took me some time to find something - but I finally did and I'm 80-90% improved. Take heart. ~Janece very very very dry...... HI all ! About 3 weeks ago I received some products : Redness and blemish control, Super rich moisturizer from Purple emu plus vita oil and cleansing bar for very dry skin from Sy. about 3-4 days after starting using all products I started to get a rash on my cheeks ( have never had this symptoms with my rosacea ) and it was blotchy red and itching. I stopped using everything for 24 hours and took some allergic med. The itching calmed down and I decided to give some of the products another try one at the time. I started with the Super rich moisturizer on all the face and the redness and blemish control on my nose and some spots around my mouth. There is no sign of irritation but my face is sssoooooo dry, even on the aeries where I only use the super rich moisturizer and it just gets worse day by day I´ve given it a week and a half now hoping it would reverse but I´m giving up. I tried yesterday to put some jojoba before the moisturizer but no help. I did try the vita oil aswell some days ago and I´m sorry to say but I´m suspecting that was the product which caused the itching . Does any one recognize these symptoms and does anyone have advice how I can reverse this terrible dryness. But the happy part is that my rosacea is much better, which of course would normally make me very happy if it was not for theses side effects of a very very dry skin. I´m confused...Should I stop using the purple emu prod. who seems to bee helping my rosacea but giving me terribly dry skin ? Very confused in all this product flow !
