Guest guest
Hi Antoinette, > Can some one tell me why the dairy, legumes, cachew and > peanut was considere safe by Elaine and her research/experience. Specific dairy, cashews, peanuts and " specific " legumes are considered safe on the SCD because they contain SCD legal carbohydrates. Properly made 24 hour yogurt and the cheeses listed in BTVC are legal dairy and can be tried early in the diet. Fresh peas and beans can be tried early in the diet, while it is best to wait for healing before adding in (properly prepared) dried peas, beans and lentils. Not all legumes are legal - they are listed in BTVC. The nuts to start on, because they are easiest to digest, are blanched almonds and pecans. Legal peanut butter can be tried after this (start small and work up). Cashews are for later after some healing since they are more complex. If any of these foods are a known allergen (IgE) for a person they should be avoided. Sheila, SCD 61 mos, 22 yrs UC mom of and
