Guest guest
Hello fellow Canadians, I have found out that with the help of a great DAN DR. I could get the form signed to have some tax benefit for the expeses of the diet. Do you know exactly what we can claim? Any advice so I don't waste time learning the hard way-you( know the governemnt doesn't always tell you everything.) Thanks alot. Guest guest
Hi there! You would need to investigate 'medical expenses' on the gov't website. I can tell you this much...doctors have been unwilling to write the prescription required to use this credit for anything other than a confirmed celiac disease. If you can get your DAN! doc to do thise for you, that would be awesome. It is quite time consuming to claim this, as you can only claim the difference in cost between regular and gluten free foods. I'll paste the link here, but in case it doesn't work, i'll add the gov't site....under individuals, search for 'medical expenses'. Hope this helps! Save recipts for SCD foods example: nut flour Include the price of a comparable food when you declare on the tax form. Carol F.
