Picked up Chris' letter from our PCP today, so tomorrow her packet gets mailed! Luckily I remembered to snap her pictures before she left for summer camp! We'll shoot for early to mid Aug and hopefully I'll have all my stuff together by then. If not, I am just so excited for my baby (she just turned 16), I could cry. No more boys at school calling her " hippo " and " oinker. " No more girls giggling behind cupped hands. No more kids saying they'll call to invite her to this or that and then not calling. No more hiding at home and refusing to eat in front of people. No more tearful discussions on her bed, no more her asking me, " Why me, mom? " No more one daughter 100 pounds and popular, and the other 255 pounds and alone. My baby has a real shot at happiness and a normal life in high school (she's a sophomore next year) and beyond! If I am meant to stay fat for the rest of my life, I will be eternally grateful for this surgery for Chris.
