Subject: Internet Access in Hospital

Hi All,

I've become so addicted to this message board, my Husband is

about to pull the plug.

Does anyone know if I can take my laptop to the hospital and if you

can get internet access from the phones in the room???

Or are you too wiped out to care after the surgery? I hate to just

sit and watch TV..wouldn't it be cool to surf the net while

recovering?

Have a good day,

Tuleta in Florida

Hi Amy,

All I did was sleep....no TV...no elaborate conversations. However

that does remind me of something. Rick and Janet Armor came by to visit me

and I had slid down low toward the foot of the bed. I guess I looked

uncomfortable because Rick told my husband Randy to get on the other side and

each one grabbed me under my arm and pulled me back up. I thought that was so

sweet since Rick was only about 2 weeks post-op himself and he could have

busted a staple pulling on my fat #@$. Any way, I just remembered that and I

wanted you ladies to know what a gentleman Rick Armor is. Thanks Rick for

saving me....I hope I didn't hurt you. Another little hint that Rick and

Janet gave me was about the leg wraps that inflate. There is a little fan for

cool air that blows in them and keeps you from being so hot with them on. I

know it made me feel so much better. Well, so much for my MGB surgery

flashback. I contribute my need to sleep to all the Benedryl they gave me to

combat my allergic reactions to the meds. Most everyone else was up doing

laps in the hallway especially Francine. That woman amazed me!!!!!

Amy, are you feeling better????? I hope the pain has subsided. I'm

praying for you!!

Love,

Genz

Tuleta: You're going to be in the hospital 24 hours during which you

will be busy. And when you're not busy, you're too wiped out. You won't

care!

Hi everyone!

Congratulations on all the insurance approvals and dates! Isn't it

great when it happens! I truly feel that my whole life has changed

and it is only going to get better since I have had surgery-I feel

that way partly because I know I WILL succeed at weight loss and am

not controlled by food anymore! I have such a positive outlook-

before I had surgery I had gotten to the point where (emotionally and

physically) I could not face another diet and I knew I didn't want to

keep on living as a fat person getting fatter...This surgery has

taken that 'curse' away for me!!! I am not unrealistic thinking that

the rest of my life will be all peaches but I know that one BIG major

problem has been fixed for me! I have the most respect for what has

happened to my body and feel it was just the kick in the pants I

needed to get on track with food, exercise, weight loss and feeling

so much better about myself!

Tuleta-

I don't know how you'll be in the hosp but I was so morphined out for

the first 2 days I did nothing but doze in and out!!! I was lucky to

brush my teeth and wash my face! I also thought about taking a

laptop to the hosp but I think if I would have felt that good they

would have sent me straight home!!! I did take a couple of books and

makeup but never even looked at either! I had a hard time

concentrating on anything for too long-I think it was a combination

of pain and uncomfortableness, the staff coming in and out all times

of the day and night, and the medications (morphine and anesthesia).

Best of luck to you and you go girl with your laptop! I hope you are

able to keep up with all of us!!!!

Talk to you later!
