I know my cousin had a rash which looked a lot like severe acne and was

told she had rosacea. She's never looked ruddy. Her complexion is very

pale except for the rashes she gets on her face. How many ways does

rosacea present itself? Are these a cluster of different disorders

grouped under one heading because of the underlying unknown cause?>>

when my derm said

rosacea

to me

i was surprised

because i don't have the

flushhhhhhhhhhhh

redness

whatever

just the pustules and peeling and etc.

she said there are

two

components to rosacea:

the vascular

and the

'acne'

may or may not

go hand in hand ...

i'm sure others have

more

more

more

info than i

hope this helps.

I think " R " affects (very nice) people in different ways. I am a flusher

(no not flasher!) and when not flushing, just have a slight pinkness on my

cheeks and nose (used to be severe redness on cheeks and nose until I blew

up half my blood vessels on my face with pulsed dye laser!).

I have never had the acne component of it. In fact, I have very rarely got

a spot in my life, no matter what I eat or during the teenage years. When I

do get a spot, my husband actually comments on it like it is a phenomenan!

(he suffers from getting spots and swellings quite frequently).

So, I would agree that there are different components to " R " as at one stage

I thought maybe I was misdiagnosed because everyone was talking about spots

and pustules and I never got these. But, " R " makes up for it, by double

dosing me with very severe flushing - so I haven't got off lightly, believe

me!

Well, I'm off now to look more into the possible relationships between

-leaky gut syndrome - immune-mediated disorder = rosacea.

Bye for now and remember - Hold your head up high.
