Guest guest
We are from the USA and our accountant helped us to write off some of the expense of special diet! If your in the USA Just save all your receipts and make sure that you have a " medical necessity " letter from your doctor. Guest guest
If someone has a documented need for a special diet such as celiac, then we can do this in the US. I recall this being discussed on a GFCF list, that it is very time consuming for the small amount it helps. Also you can only deduct the difference between the " regular " food and special dietary requirement foods (such as the difference in cost between wheat bread and gluten free bread). Another write off here in the US is the cost for a parent of a child while a health condition to go to conferences. Going to a DAN conference for example would count. I believe on the DAN flyer it is actually mentioned that parents should look into this. Guest guest
No this is not a joke..... In the US, you, also you can deduct all medical expense (copays and deductibles/anything out of pocket), therapies, prescriptions and supplements (if you have medical necessity and you can prove it).
