Guest guest
had some bloodwork done Feb 22nd for metabolic screening. While they found no " inborn errors of metabolism " the amino acid report came back with about half the amino acids really high, some 4-5 times the high end of the range. I can't find much on the Internet re toxic levels of amino acids, just deficiencies. I did find one item that said lack of B12 inhibits the metabolism of certain amino acids causing a buildup and blocks metabolism of protein, and am wondering, with 's malabsorption issues whether this is likely what is happening (or was since he is now gaining weight on the SC Diet). In any case, I am in " the little red hen " position with his doctors right now. Who will help me with my son said the mother? Not I, said the metabolic dr., it's not an in-born error ... Not I, said the neurologist, I do seizures and EEGs ... Not I, said the paediatrician, I am too busy. So, I turn to the experts - I cant imagine high levels of anything in the brain is a good thing. Can anyone help? Thanks Sharon Cruikshank
