Even if it had the right sweetner(Honey) in it we would not be able to use it because of the nitrates/nitrites. I have recently bought side pork. The butcher that I get it from slices it for me and it is locally grown instead of out there where you have no idea of the conditions of the criters. As I am frying it I salt it a little 2-3 times. It is yummy. We like it better than any bacon we have ever gotten as that is many times too salty for us. Hope this helps some of you. Sandy M.
