Or maybe your hairdresser can get the stuff for you. It's not that expensive and it kills a lot of stuff psuedomonas aeruginosa is the first thing listed on the bottle. I just counted there are 30 different bacteria it kills. All you do is mix about 1 ounce of the solution to 32 ounces of water. It last a long time. I spray it on everything. I hope this helps. Guest guest
--Hi : ) The disinfectant spray I use around the house is called PowerHouse-It list Pseudomonas as one of the things it kills. I like this brand because it is less expensive than Lysol-I buy it at either the Family Dollar or Dollar General Stores- can't remember which one at the moment. ; ) Have a great day!!! Guest guest
Hi Everyone I am reading with interest all your answers on the above. Has anyone in the UK done any research on their cleaning stuff? This - NOW! - seems a pretty obvious thing to do to try and keep Pseudomonas and other dangers away, although I know we are told it is everywhere but it can only help to keep it away (I assume bleech does but who knows). I can't believe the CF team doesn't automatically advise us on what cleaning products are best. Whilst writing is anyone in the UK attending the CF conference at the ICC in Birmingham on Saturday orgainsed by the CF Trust? Bye for know. Guest guest
Sarbri, here is a list of the products that state on them they kill PA, Blue Liquid Lysol, Clorox Spray, Lets Dance Clear Fresh Disenfectant, ODO Ban, Comet Bath, Power House, Sno Bowl, and there were a few more that I deleted by accident, hope this helps What are the cleaners that kill PA???? Hi all! I have been following the discussion about passing PA. So after reading the last few I went to my cleaning cupboard and could not find ANYTHING that actually lists that it kills PA. Of course they all seem to list Staph aureous but my daughter already has that! My can of lysol doesn't even list it. After having a child with CF and PA in my house playing with my daughters stuff, I called her CF Clinic and they said spraying Lysol on the toys would take care of it.......If that was not true I am certainly going to be having a LOOOOOONG discussion with them! Does anyone actually know of some cleaners that kill PA? By the way, just in case you are wondering...the girls are not normally together..we were showing them our new " vest " so they could decide if they wanted to try one...After being on this site for a while now..I now know the importance that we keep the PA away from our daughter..Funny that the docs did not seem to think it was a big deal! Thanks, mom of 2 1/2 wcf and 5 yr old wocf
Guest guest
Be careful because a lot of household cleaners have PA in them. All those sprays like FABREEZE that you spray on furniture has it, even antibacterial liquid soap can have it. Traci's doctor said that all CF kids will get some form of bacteria and it can be just as harmful as PA. If a CFer gets PA early like Traci(3months) it is almost impossible to get rid of because it colonizes. She is on oral antibiotics often and is now in the hosp. after having a bronc. All went well just waiting for cultures to come back. Living in a 10x 20 space is no fun!
