Guest guest
Hi Joanne... Then, how are people getting approved and having surgeries? If the Dr can prove it is medically necessary, then medicaid will cover it.. Guest guest
Not necessarily - hospitals have their own criteria for what they allow. In this day and age of HMO's with a clerk somewhere reading and reporting to doctors and hospitals it is amazing that anything gets done. I used to be the office manager for an orthopaedic surgeon and if he was on call at the hospital for the weekend and an HMO patient came in with an emergency unless the doctor called for authorization himself (the hospital had staff who called for them but the HMO's would not authorize the doctor unless he, or someone from his office called) they would refuse payment!!! It was a mess so now I am teaching!!! Went from the frying pan into the fire!!! Joanne Theresa Somers wrote: > Hi Joanne... > > Then, how are people getting approved and having surgeries?
