Guest guest
Obviously I can only speak for my son and his experiences....but when really craves something everyday and only wants that....I know it may be a problem for him. We are currently chelating so yeast is a constant issue for us. I try to limit the fruit due to our yeast issues. He still eats fruit everyday...but not at the expense of all other foods. Guest guest
Jen, I am also chelating my daughter, 16 mo., and am having continual yeast problems. She has been doing SCD for over 2 months and still has diarrhea. We also have to induce her bowels every evening because she seems to have lost the ability to push them out. We tried applesauce for the first time last week and it caused a flare in her eczema (which I think is partially related to her yeast). What other foods cause problems for your son? This may help me figure out how to best feed Elle while we are chelating with SCD. I appreciate your time in sharing. Guest guest
Jeni Lynn, Have you discussed this stool problem with your doctor? I am not a doctor, but it seems to be very odd to need to use an enema to induce a D. stool. I think her bowel needs some type of retraining at this young age before she becomes enema dependent for life. If her stool is soft, it should not be difficult to pass. Guest guest
Sandy, The first diaper was very soft and mushy the second one was the big D. And these were with an hour of each other. But it didn't happen until after lunch and we had the apple pancakes for breakfast at 7. Could it be that he's not " allergic " (a mom's diagnosis as we've had zero testing done)? moeller124 no_reply > wrote: When you talk about reaction, what kind of reaction are you refering to? Guest guest
Hey Jody, I appreciate your concern. I have been in touch with my DAN throughout this whole ordeal. We are all concerned that we have to induce diarrhea bowels. You are right, it is not a good situation. I find myself in a predicament. We are chelating Elle, so she has to make a bowel everyday in order to eliminate the metals (she has multiple metal poisonings at very high levels). Therefore, if she does not eliminate on her own, I am left with no choice but to induce it. Our DAN thinks that the metals have caused Elle's digestive system to lose their ability to squish out the bowel. Also, since she continually has diarrhea or pudding poops for the most part, her stools don't firm up and put pressure on the intestinal walls for " squishing out. " She is on a compounded version of bethanechol which is supposed to help stimulate this " squishing " movement. However, so far it hasn't helped much. Since she is chelating, it is likely that the chelators are continually feeding her yeast. And since we are doing SCD it is likely that we are in a continual state of die-off, hence the pudding poops. On occasion her stools will firm up some (during days of chelation), but they always return to pudding. My hope is that we will finish chelation shortly. She has eliminated 5 of her metals already (after 2 months of chelation). We have 6 left to go. Once we are done, I am hoping that SCD can restore her gut to a healthy state. As of right now, I am doing SCD with the hope that it will keep her gut from getting too ripped up while we chelate. As far as " stimulating foods " we give her pureed stewed prunes and pearsauce. I did try applesauce this last week, but her eczema worsened (my guess is due to feeding yeast). Do you think I should try the muffins in the constipation protocol? I haven't done this because Elle has severe leaky gut, making her susceptible to a number of allergies. I wanted to avoid a nut allergy if possible. In addition to this, I wasn't sure if the constipation protocol applied to Elle since she is constipated with pudding poops. Also, she is only 16 mo, and I don't remember at what age they recommend giving nut products to children. If you have any helpful tips, I would be interested in hearing them. But as of now, we are doing everything that I know of to make the best of a bad situation. Thanks! Guest guest
Hi Jody! I never felt like you were being critical. Sometimes this type of communication is frustrating because you can't hear an individuals tone in their response. Please don't think that I felt condemned. I know you have pure intentions, and I do appreciate your concern and input. Saying that, I am very open to any ideas if you come across some possible solutions in the future. Thank you again for all you do for this group. It is truly admirable the way that you invest so much of yourself to help complete strangers.
