Guest guest
Regarding my previous post, I don't think pure baking soda will go over well with my kids, and I have enough problems getting them to brush their teeth. These are the ingredients in Weleda's Calendula tooth gel from their website: Ingredients: Glycerin, Aqua (Water), Silica, Algin, Calendula officinalis (Marigold), Foeniculum Vulgare (Fennel) Oil, Mentha Viridis (Spearmint) Leaf Oil, (Limonene), ((*from natural essential oils)), (Esculin) I've never heard of Algin. Could this possibly be legal? Product Details - http://usa.weleda.com/details/?id=9802> Children's Tooth Gel - Weleda, Inc. Are there any options with legal ingredients? They don't like > minty though, only fruity flavors. There are no 100% SCD legal toothpastes. But, Elaine said that if your child will spit out the toothpaste and not swallow - to " not worry " about commercial toothpaste (but use only a small pea-sized amount). Here is a SCD legal toothpaste recipe that was posted a couple of years back (from tte): 6 tsp. baking soda 1/3 tsp. salt 4 tsp. glycerin 12-13 drops peppermint of wintergreen extract Just mix and store at room temperature. Since your kids don't like minty flavours you could use legal lemon or orange extract instead of the mint extract.
