Guest guest
He mentioned the, " green one. " Looked at their website, and noticed it did have dimethicone in it. This could explain some sucess as we all know dimethicone's usefullness. However, I'm worried that this preparation of gold bond could be comedogenic. So, if you want dimethicone, get the Sy product Zinc Oxide product. We must suspect his story because no one uses X-Ray therapy for rosacea. It was used for severe inflammatory rosacea and acne decades ago. Now that we have Accutane, Accutane is used. If there was anyone crazy enough to prescribe X-ray therapy, assuming you could find a radiologist who would do it, you would have to try several courses of Accutane first. The X-ray therapy led to a significant reduction in sebum secretion, still not as much sebum secretion as full dose Accutane, (max ~90% reduction in sebum secretion rate after about 4 weeks). After X-ray therapy, years later, patients would develop cancer and radiation dermatitis -- clearly a poor tradeoff for rosacea. > What version of the gold bond are you referring to. Guest guest
I really didn't post this to be ridiculed. Believe it if you want, I really don't care. Guest guest
I really didn't post this to be ridiculed. Believe it if you want, I really don't care. I found something that helped me, PERIOD. Maybe your just jealous because you do all this research and still don't have an answer and I just stumbled across mine. Actually I just wanted everyone to know that these idiot doctors don't know what they are doing. It's pretty obvious by looking at all of the posts. > >To: rosacea-support >Subject: Re: cea- My remedy (Gold Bond) >Date: Wed, 13 Feb 2002 04:14:41 -0000 > >He mentioned the, " green one. Guest guest
We know there are idiot doctors out there. Some of us are even victims of them, such as yourself -- seeing as you have had, by your own story, x-ray therapy and im cortisone. But, really, you have to realize it, and not take any criticism of your post personally, that we want to understand your post. You must believe that whether you think so or not, your post has certain markers of being bogus due to your history, and when questioned about your history in more detail, you suspiciously dodge questions and become defensive. You must realize that theories you post here will be scrutinized, whether you think we are " jealous " or not; simply because for the good of everyone it must be determined if your ideas could possibly work for others. Your self reported sucess, while we are happy for you, is of limited value if it only helps yourself. Now, don't you want to stop, and help others in a more meaningful way? And you still never answered the question if you tried Accutane before doing x-ray therapy. Well, did you??? And just so we understand, post your complete regimen. How many times a day do you wash your face and with what and how many times do you apply the green bottle of gold bond lotion and do you use any other products? What grade of rosacea did you start with and what is your current level of clearing and how long did it take. Also how many x-ray treatments have you had and when was your last im cortison shot. > > > What version of the gold bond are you referring to. Guest guest
No I never tried Accutane before doing 2 x-ray therapy sessions. I really don't recall when I had the cortisone shot(s). The last treatment I had from the derm was probably about 18 months ago. As for my regimen: Morning: I wash my hair with HeadnShoulders Shampoo. I use the shampoo on my face also. I leave the shampoo the entire shower and rinsing is the last thing I do. I apply Gold Bond to cheeks, eyebrow area, chin (any area that was affected by rosacea). Afternoon: Carry small conainer with gold bond in it (I used an old Carmex container). Apply anytime I had flare-ups. I don't do this anymore because I no longer have afternoon flare-ups. Night: I wash my face with Ivory bar soap and apply Gold Bond the same way I do in the mornings. Grades of cea I had: I started out with mild red cheeks. It graduated to the area on my cheeks close to my ears. This area would turn red and my skin became flaky. My chin was also flaky. I had flaky skin on my eyebrows. My skin wasn't flaky all the time. It was flaky and oily at the same time. Sometimes bumps would appear on my chin and cheeks. My skin would get dark red and burn sometimes. I did notice that what I would eat would sometimes compound the burning. I noticed an immediate affect after using gold bond. It's been a long time but from what I remember, I totally cleared up after about 2 weeks. I haven't had any major flare-ups since. I haven't had any sign of rosacea in over 6 months. Good Luck! > >To: rosacea-support >Subject: Re: cea- My remedy (Gold Bond) >Date: Thu, 14 Feb 2002 00:46:39 -0000 > >We know there are idiot doctors out there.
Guest guest
Has anyone else tried this? Sounds good - I was going to try the gold bond but this post concerned me - Head and Shoulders and Ivory - no way I can tolerate either. I've finally found a beauty shop that doesn't try to treat my " dandruff " with harsh stuff every time I get a haircut. I've tried dandruff remedies in the past but it just makes everything worse. cea- My remedy (Gold Bond) > > > > > >Date: Mon, 11 Feb 2002 20:49:45 -0600 > > > > > > > > > > > >Sorry if you are getting this from me for a second time. Guest guest
I really don't have to use Ivory or HeadnShoulders. I sometimes don't use either. As long as I use the Gold Bond and wash my face with any soap, I'm fine. I only posted this because the guy wanted to know what I did from moring till night. I did receive an email back from someone (which I posted) that said they started using Gold Bond and were having success. Guest guest
I was diagnosed about 2 months ago. I think I have a mild case except I have the veins showing around my nose and on my chin and my pores in the effected areas are enlarged. I'm just beginning to get veins on my cheeks. I am kind of pink but not really red unless it's hot and I'm working outside. Sometimes my face feels like it is on fire but it usually isn't any more red than normal when that happens. I'm on Tetracycline twice a day, Zinc 25mg twice a day and Noritate 1% once a day. I don't really have flares except that I can tell the computer makes me more conscious of my face feeling hot. I can't tell that the treatments are helping. So I decided to try the Gold Bond (green). The first time I put it on my face was feeling hot and was about as pink as it gets (I had been reading the posts to this list). It was amazing-- my face immediately cooled down and I watched the pink go away! I continue to get the cooling effect. I can see why he applies it more than once a day. I just started the Gold Bond this week so I don't know wheter it is going to keep the pink under control. I am worried about whether it will clog the pores, though. So far so good.
