Guest guest
Hi, I am trying to estimate how much my daughter should be eating, etc. Went to fitday but it insisted that the age must be >18. Wasn't able to create an account for her. So I created an account for myself but all the serving size, weight, etc is created for me and I cannot track hers. Please help. Guest guest
Jody, I did as you suggested and am very alarm by the values I got. 's total consumption: Calories=953.3, Fat=24, Carb=147.5, Protein=72.5 Her ideal consumption: Calories=996, Fat=298.8, Carb=498, Protein=199.2 I thought that she was eating way too much and was trying to reduce the amount to reduce her bloating! Did I calculate incorrectly? I sent a copy of the spreadsheet to your email. If you could take a look and let me know where my mistakes are, I'll really appreciate it. Thank you. > > , > > http://www.kidsnutrition.org/bodycomp/energy/energyneeds_calculator.ht m > > > Use that calculator to determine the number of calories that she needs. > > Just input her food into fitday and use the information you get from > the calculator to see if she is getting enough calories. > > The general recommendations for children is 15-20% protein, 30% fat, > 50-55% carbs. > > > Jody > mom to -7 and -9 > SCD 1/03 >

If you could take a > look and let me know where my mistakes are, I'll really appreciate > it. > Thank you. > > , I'll just review how Fitday lists values: Column #1 in green lists " grams " Column # 2 in blue lists " calories " Column # 3 in red lists " percentages " Total calorie totals so far are at the top in blue and accumulate until the day is over So if you only had a few items the percentages would be realative to the total intake just and they could be similar for an entire day's food. The pie wheel is a graphic summary of the percentages using the same colors assigned to the listing in the box. Carol F.
