Guest guest
Hey All, The nurse called today and said that the CTscan results were back and it showed a small pancreas. Jackie is 13 and I just found out that in May of 2001 her CTscan showed a small pancreas. Maybe it wasn't thought to be anything cuz she was younger then. They did note it in the results back then but didn't tell me. They pretty much acted like inflammation was down. Her doc is leaving town and we are going to have to go to ton all the time now to see a doc cuz she has none here. The nurse said the doc would forward this info to MUSC since we have an appt on Oct 8. My question to you guys is...do you guys know anything about " small " pancreas' and do you guys have any questions that I should be asking when I go. I am going to try to have the 2001 CTscan and the one from recently when I go to this doc. I am very happy to be going on a regular basis cuz I do like the docs down there, so far anyway, even though it is about a 4 hour drive. Thanks for any info you guys can give. Talk to ya soon,

Talk to ya soon, , I don't have any specific information on a " small " pancreas in relation to chronic pancreatitis. But you might consider that because of it's reduced size it might have smaller ducts and not enough capacity to produce the right quantity of enzymes. Also might be put under more of a strain to fulfill normal digestive functions. Just a guess from me. The gastro guys at MUSC will surely have a much more medically correct explanation! My scans show an " abnormally small " gallbladder. My doc said that this most likely had some bearing on why my CP developed. I'm sure you will get some good help for Jackie in ton. I know it's a long drive for you, but the medical care is so good there, it's worth the extra distance. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
