Can I just give my son the GI ProHealth yogurt starter culture as part of his

supplements? Due to his anaphylaxis reactions to all dairy and tree nuts,

(peanuts too), I don't see me making yogurt any time soon for him. I would like

to give him more than just acidophilos, which he is getting.

Thanks,

I don't think it is a good idea to use yogurt starter as a

probiotic. But, you could use it to ferment vegetables.

Recipe for sauerkraut and pickled ginger (use yogurt starter in

these recipes, not Kefir grains, to ferment) at

Even if not ready for the cabbage or ginger they can drink off some

of the fluid which will have lots of good bacteria.
