It appears I made a mistake in thinking the State of Oregon medical

insurance would cover me and the predicaments usually associated

with Panc. I was mistaken. Not only don't they cover the drugs I

need, but their doc says (and this is the 2nd new doc in 30 days)the

100 pages of records my GI provided don't even support Panc

diagnosis. So am I to believe the pain, nausea and all the other

crap must be in my head, or has my recently diploma'd medical doc

discovered EVERYONE ELSE is wrong?

Funny thing is I have seen some of the best specialists in the

country, and they don't dispute the findings, now I get some kid

straight from medical school telling me the findings dont support

the opinion.

I will be out of meds tomorrow night, so Sunday should be a barrel

of monkeys. I'm starting to think there is no way to work the

problem, except by threatening to kill myself in the hope they

commit me, and thereby, force them to treat me.

What do you think? Any suggestions? Is there a lawyer in the house?

Ken,

if possible, get a new doctor. One who knows the field more

than one who just graduated with maybe a few weeks of

knowledge regarding chronic pancreatitis. I spoke with a

number of my physicians about how much teaching they receive

regarding pancreatitis and I was told they spent a total of

one week in all 4 years of schooling and that in the

internship and residency, they usually only see people with

chronic pancreatitis due to alcohol abuse. Not a whole lot

of knowledge to make you comfortable with the diagnosis from

a recently graduated physician.

Ken:

Conctact your state senator or representative. whichever one is more

willing to help. Maybe they can help through some of the red tape..

Keep looking for another doctor. It may mean having to travel. My

insurance refused to cover my J-tube formula and my senator was able

to get it covered for me. I hope this helps.
