He's probably going through a terrible die-off.

We don't recommend starting two things at once. Just starting SCD can

trigger a die-off and adding S. Boulardii can do that as well.

People can be allergic to S. Boulardii (it's a yeast).

I would call your doctor's office and tell them what's happening.

Medical attention seems necessary to me at this point. He sounds

very, very sick.

This happened to my daughter too about 1 week in to the diet. She could

barely get off the couch, had a fever, vomiting. She was not on probiotics

at the time. We thought it was the flu, but no one in our family caught it

and we were all around her constantly. Her stool test came back normal for

pathogens, but as I read more about digestive health, it sounds like our

guts can also harbor virus?...I would love to hear if anyone knows more

about this...if research shows that the gut can harbor Measles, could it

also harbor Influenza (from flu shot) as well as " wild " viruses we catch? If

so is this diet capable of purging all of this?

....so, it could be that your son is purging a variety of things, or he could

just be unlucky enough to have caught the flu...maybe the test will be if

anyone else catches it. After about three days of misery, my daughter felt a

million times better (but had an insane craving for french fries!)

Thanks Jody, It is very strange. After three hours he snapped out

of it and now he is fine. I did take him to doctor. But by the

time I got there he had snapped out of it. Doctor also said he

thought it was a die-off reaction. Boy it scared me to death.

Thanks for your reply.

Robbie, Well this is day 3 so that coincides. He's fine now. It's

amazing how this all works. Of course my second son is also just

starting the diet but I didn't give him the probiotic too. (I was

going to do one at a time.) We'll see if he has a reaction. I

think I'll skip the probiotic with him.
