Guest guest
Wow, Joanne, (And here's another example of an original post I didn't get!) I just read-- in Marie's post--about your friend. That would scare anyone off! You are to be congratulated in still being intereseted in the surgery. I think Marie is right about the improvements in the procedure, and keep in mind that so many surgeons do FAR FEWER of these operations. Dr R has it down to a science. Now that doesn't mean it is risk free, but I feel like it's worth the risk. You'll have to decide that for you, tho. Guest guest
Dear Marie - so nice to hear from someone about my age who had the surgery (I am 55 and I, too, wish they had this surgery years ago). I am pretty convinced to go ahead just a little fearful - I had a good friend who had some kind of gastric bypass in 1983 and died about a month later - she had to have an endoscopy and the resident who performed the procedure perforated her stomach, she became septic and died. So, just a little scary. Joanne in Ohio furball2u@... wrote: > Hi Joanne, > Sorry you are feeling a little left-out!! I'm afraid sometimes > people just get lost in the crowd. Guest guest
I was fat in high school... fatter at my 5 year reunion, fatter yet at my 10 year reunion, and my 20 year reunion is next year... I can't tell you how much I would like to go to that one slim, or at least a " normal " size! Can't say that I want to impress my old boyfriends. I only dated a few, and for reasons unknown to me, they are all gay. I am pretty sure I didn't cause it, lol, it must be that I am attracted to men who were sensitive to my feelings... Just something I thought I would mention, I've had a bit of a complex about that for years now...lol (I've always kind of thought that maybe dating me was so bad, they gave up on women altogether..) YIKES! LOL Deb in IL
