I use a cleanser with aloe in it and find it very mild (it has a lot of other ingredients as well.) I used to put gel on my face (from a bottle or tube) and that was ok too ( I found one without alcohol.) I wouldn't steer clear just because of the aloe. It seems to be much stronger when taken directly from the plant. Have you checked the archives of recent days? There was a little thread about just this topic. It might help to look up a few of the messages.

Guest guest
Hi all: I like the rest of you are trying to figure out which suncreen & moisterizer I can use. I tried pure aloe vera from a plant on my face and I had a definite reaction. Stinging and red. I've heard some people can't use aloe vera. A lot of products have aloe vera in them. Has anyone found that aloe vera may not work on their skin in the purest form, but it may be OK in a smaller dose? A lot of the more natural products I've seen lately have aloe in them. It makes it very difficult to find a product that we can use. Thanks for any input. It sounds like people in this support group are putting together a rosacea ingredient list. I think that is a great idea. Star
