Hi Gail,

I had surgery on that day as well. I have no idea why you are feeling sick. I

eat mashed potatoes as well, but I am just not hungry, so I never get more

than a couple of teaspoons down. I am kinda afraid to try much. I have a

temperamental tummy, so I don't try much. Have you emailed Dr Rutledge? Flo

has had a sick tummy lately too. Could it be the medication making you sick?

Gail, I tried potato soup and it felt like lead in my stomach. I only had two

bites and threw the rest away. Maybe it's just to heavy for you.

I feel that way when I just drink the juices also. I don't eat that much just

2 teaspoons and that's only once a day. Do you think drinking to much OJ

would make me sick?

I have tried other juices and I don't like them. I drink V8 and OJ and water.

Thanks for any help.

Hi Gail: I'm in the process of figuring out what is making me sick. I

had surgery May 31. So far, Amy P and I have figured out that it's

probably my hormone pills making me sick. I thought it might be lactose

intolerance. Today was my third day off the hormones and I haven't felt

sick, but I made several other changes so one at a time I have to

experiment.

I went right back on my hormones after surgery so didn't think that was

it but I am now inclined to think it was. We'll see. You're not alone

out here. I've had yucky tummy a good bit lately and it is discouraging.

I do have my energy back though, so that's a good start.

Tomorrow I make yet another change in my quest to find out what has

caused my yucky tummy. I told Amy if I wasn't 57, I'd swear I was

pregnant so that's how we concluded that I needed to try not taking the

hormones....try anything you think is a possibility. Eventually with

some detective work you will find the culprit making you feel sick. I'm

still detecting..not sure the hormones are the culprit but I should know

by the weekend.

Best wishes Gail. I KNOW how discouraging it can be.

Gail, that's a whole lotta acid! v8 and OJ are shere acid. I can't eat

much either but you need to get something in there but acid. How about

some soup, chicken broth, won ton soup, etc?

Try some non-acid stuff hon.

Hi Gail,

I was one of your littermates on 5/29. I am doing well, I think. I

weighed today and have lost 28 lbs. this month. I have started eating

regular food and haven't had much of a problem. I just have to watch how

much I put in and make sure I don't get too full. Not a good feeling!!! My

nausea that I occasionally experienced has mostly gone away, and now I only

am bothered if I wait too long to eat something. I am amazed at how well I

feel. I felt much better when I went to eating some real food. First I

tried mashed potatoes, pretty soupy. I just felt if I saw one more broth I

would barf. I also eat some crackers if I can't eat a meal on time. That

seems to help. I would seriously think about giving Dr. R a call if you

continue to feel yucky. Hope this helps. Sandy from VA

Hi Gail,

Are you taking your Tums????? Orange Juice is very acidic....you may

need

to water it down. You should also be eating crackers to help calm your stomach

and any acid

you may experience. Gatorade really helped me and there are so many flavors for

variety.

I really like to eat the low fat Better Cheddars. I wish you felt better I find

that every day is better than the last.

Best Wishes,

Genz

Dear Flo, I had the same experience as you are having. Had to switch to the

Climara Patch. Not enough hormone can make you feel sick too!!! Too much

hormone can make you nauseated. Like you say, it's experimentation. Good

luck. I will be 56 next month so we are about the same age too. in

Missouri 158 lbs/ down 84 lbs. MGB 1 10 2000
