Well, I think I did it. I made a simple liquid sunscreen/foundation

and I cant believe it looks almost exactly like regular makeup. I

just put it on an hour ago and it feels very nice. I will have to

see if it causes acne, though, as I am not sure if it is comedigenic

and who knows what will happen with sweating:

Anyway, Here is what I did:

You need:

1/4 tsp Glycerin (health food stores)

1 tablespoon Titanium Dioxide

1/4 tsp Brown Iron oxide

1/4 tsp Orange Iron oxide

1/4 tsp Yellow Iron oxide

You can get the titanium dioxide and iron oxides at WWW.pvsoap.com

Put a tablespoon of titanium dioxide in a small dish. Add 1/4

teaspoon each of brown, orange, and yellow iron oxide pigments. Mix

them around well and sift through a fine sifter. You want it to look

about a shade darker than a powder you would pick at the store. Then

take a pinch of the powder and mix a pea sized amount of glycerin

with it until it's the consistency of liquid foundation. Ta Da! You

have homemade foundation!! If too dark or too light adjust the

amounts a bit to get the right color. But be careful, a little of

the iron oxides go a long way. Most of the powder should be titanium

dioxide.

Apply a light coat as it can look too thick if you use too much.

Also, it looks a little shiny but soaks in nicely. You can use a

tissue to blot it a little and looks even better.

Do not mix all the powder and glycerine together at one time. Just

keep the powder and glycerine seperate and mix as you use. This way

you dont need any preservatives.

I literally just did this an hour ago so lets see if I still like it

in a few days.

Other ingredients like zinc oxide and mica could probably be added.

Maybe I'll try that next.

Sheesh! My kitchen looks like a chemistry lab :)
