Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I have some questions that I have not been able to find the answers to yet. It seems like immediately after surgery....maybe within 2 weeks, some co-morbidities disappear. Diabetes, high blood pressure....How does this happen so quickly? At our high weights, I don't understand how 20-25 pounds can have such a profound effect. I don't think our bodies would have " cleaned out " by then. Anyway, I am really glad that it happens, I just don't understand how. Thanks for all help! Aimee Pre-OP First denial from Ins. Co.
Guest guest
Hi Flo. What I would give for a full night's sleep!!!!! My problem with the diabetes is that I get up to urinate several times a night. I also have seasonal allergies that bother me some nights but that comes and goes. Can't wait until after surgery to see what happens!! Joanne in Ohio Flo Ballengee wrote: > Hi Aimee: I was wondering the same thing. Guest guest
Hi in Michigan! Welcome! My story is like yours in the way that I only qualified for wls because I was fat! I had no documented co-morbidities but did feel bad (lack of energy), my knees hurt when I went up and down the stairs, my feet and ankles swelled if I was on them for a period of time, and I took gobs of Tums and Tagamet every day. I have BCBS in Florida and was also kind of worried that they would deny me the surgery. Well, I took the twist with them in my letter I sent with my Dr's package that if I don't get this surgery now that later on I will be MUCH more of a liability because I would most likely develop the real expensive diseases related to obesity-diabetes, heart probs, hypertension, etc....I did get denied the first time but I came back fighting with another letter (9 pager) and my surgeon did also-they approved the second time!!! I don't know how the insurances work from state to state but I can definitely say to you-go for it and don't give up!!! I even told BCBS in my letter that I was not going to give up until they let me have this lifesaving surgery!!! Talk to ya later! Tamara Lap RNY 6-6-00 31 pounds gone forever!!!
